Solutions Outreach Specialist
Position Type
Contract
Location
Remote
As CauseMic’s Solutions Outreach Specialist, you’ll focus exclusively on outbound prospecting to start meaningful conversations with nonprofit and social impact organizations that could benefit from our support. You're not here to follow up on inbound leads (Jenn’s got that covered), you're here to open doors and spark curiosity by connecting with the right people at the right time.
Your mission: identify real pain points, qualify right-fit organizations, and set up discovery calls for our Director of Client Solutions (Jenn) to close. You'll act as the first human connection for cold prospects, with outreach that is compelling, relevant, and worth their time.
This role offers flexible part-time hours, but not flexible expectations. You’ll be expected to book a minimum number of Sales Qualified Opportunities (SQOs) each month, with goals adjusted to match your weekly hours. Whether you work 20 or 40 hours a week, your impact will be measured by how well you generate high-quality sales conversations that lead to revenue.
Who we are
We’re a Portland-based consultancy made up of a tightly knit crew of technology consultants, strategists, and specialists who collaborate to design and implement modern, easy-to-use tech stacks for social impact organizations–think nonprofits and for-profits who care about doing good in the world just as much as making a buck.
At CauseMic, we partner with nonprofits and mission-driven teams across the country, supporting causes that range from animal welfare to environmental justice, veterans’ services to global health. Our sweet spot is helping these organizations untangle complex systems, streamline workflows, and leverage technology to drive greater impact.
We approach every project with sleeves-up curiosity, a bias for action, and a deep respect for the people behind the mission. It’s meaningful, fast-paced work, and we believe it’s better when we do it together. From professional development to playful debates about whether Crocs are a fashion crime or a comfort revolution, we make time fly by doing work we care about with people we like.
What you will be doing
- Prospect and qualify mission-aligned organizations using tools like LinkedIn, ZoomInfo, and HubSpot
- Craft and send personalized outreach across email, LinkedIn, phone, and video—no spammy templates here
- Use your social impact instincts to identify real pain points (e.g., “Is your CRM slowing you down?”, “Is it clear to your donors why they should give to you instead of spending their money in any other way?” or “Are you ready to grow but stuck with vague priorities?”)
- Schedule qualified discovery calls for our Director of Client Solutions and ensure smooth handoff
- Research leads and prepare context-rich briefs to help Director of Client Solutions show up to every call ready to win
- Track and manage your outreach activities in HubSpot CRM (yes, we drink our own champagne)
- Participate in weekly sales ops meetings to share learnings, iterate on outreach strategy, and celebrate wins
- Share feedback with the marketing team to inform campaigns, content, and product development
- Collaborate with the marketing team to build on campaign outreach in personal channels
Who you are
- 2+ years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising or social impact marketing
- Comfort using CRM and email tools (extra credit if you’ve used HubSpot, Salesforce, or Raiser’s Edge)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, i.e. you can sound human and helpful, not robotic or or salesy
- Comfort on video. Whether it’s sending a Loom or hopping on a Zoom, you connect best face-to-face
- Comfort using AI tools to assist you in your work, including creating briefs, writing emails, doing deep research, editing videos, etc.
- Naturally curious and coachable. You ask great questions and aren’t afraid to test new approaches
- Motivated by metrics, but not defined by them. You want to grow pipeline and impact
- Bonus: Prior experience in frontline fundraising/sales, client services, or business development (but not required)
The ideal candidate
- A recovering fundraiser who knows the grind of year-end appeals and capital campaign anxiety and can speak to it with prospects
- Someone who believes technology should work for people, not the other way around
- A values-driven communicator who leads with curiosity, not pitch decks
- Excited to work in a collaborative, fast-moving, sleeves-up team that gets things done
- A creative problem-solver who never stops learning, whether that means learning a new platform for reaching clients or leveraging AI to make every hour count
